IHC Lagersmit’s LIQUIDYNE Pump Shaft Included in Shell’s TAMAP List (The Netherlands)

IHC Lagersmit’s LIQUIDYNE Pump Shaft Included in Shell’s TAMAP List

Shell Global Solutions has listed the LIQUIDYNE pump shaft seal as best practice for use with its cooling water pumps worldwide. The LIQUIDYNE is also now included in Shell’s TAMAP (Technically Accepted Manufacturers and Products) list.

IHC Lagersmit, part of IHC Merwede, specialises in sealing solutions for rotating shafts on ships, pumps, tidal turbines and other equipment. The LIQUIDYNE water-lubricated lip seal was originally developed for dredging pumps and has been adapted to fit cooling water pumps.

Thanks to its robustness and the possibility of checking the seal condition at any time, it offers superior reliability and an above average Mean Time Between Maintenance (MTBM).

The possibility of continuously monitoring the actual state of the LIQUIDYNE seals enables Shell to plan maintenance of its cooling water pumps. This enhances grip on the pumping process and prevents both unnecessary maintenance and sudden pump failure. As a result, the stability and reliability of the pumping operation are increased considerably and maintenance costs are reduced.

Shell has approved the LIQUIDYNE following extensive practical experience with the seal in existing cooling water pumps.
