IHC Merwede to Exhibit Its Innovative Technologies at OTC Brasil 2011 Show

IHC Merwede will be showcasing its innovative vessels, advanced equipment and life-cycle support services on stand number 863 at the forthcoming inaugural OTC Brasil 2011 Conference and Exhibition on 4-6 October in Rio de Janeiro. As a reliable supplier of custom-built ships and equipment for offshore construction, IHC Merwede is renowned for focussing on the development of advanced solutions, as highlighted by its position as the technology innovator.

IHC Offshore & Marine Director Sales & Marketing Twan Voogt is enthusiastic about the group’s presence at the new event and the market as a whole. “The outlook for the offshore industry – throughout the rest of 2011 and beyond – looks increasingly positive,” he says. “Exploration and production programmes continue to expand, as well as the move to deeper water developments. This may be evidenced by the Brasilian market, which is ideal for our wide range of products and services, as the nation – and Petrobras in particular – continues to grow into one of the major oil and gas producers in the world. In line with these plans for growth, IHC Merwede has seen an increasing demand from its customers to invest in new and more advanced vessels and equipment. At OTC Brasil, we will be capitalising on this trend by highlighting the unique ability of IHC Merwede to offer an integrated and low-risk approach for the supply of specialist vessels and equipment, and life-cycle support. By providing innovative technology designed, built and managed by one partner under the IHC Merwede umbrella, we hope to drive the market forward into next year and beyond.”

IHC Merwede’s investment in innovative technology will be underlined at OTC Brasil 2011 with the promotion of two innovative vessels, the SEVEN PACIFIC and the new Type-22 vessel. Advanced equipment, such as one of the world’s most versatile J-Lay towers, the Saipem FDS2, will also be shown.

IHC Merwede will be represented by the following business units within the group: IHC Offshore & Marine; IHC Engineering Business; IHC Hydrohammer; IHC Handling Systems; IHC Offshore Systems; and IHC Hytop.
