IKM Completes Zeepipe IIA Retrofit Hot Tap Tee Project

IKM has completed and delivered Zeepipe IIA retrofit hot tap tee (RHTT) to Statoil.

The final inspection with Statoil took place last Friday, and the delivery was signed and approved by the Norwegian oil and gas giant two weeks ahead of schedule.

IKM Ocean Design announced the engineering, procurement and construction contract for the Zeepipe IIA Gooseneck Spool and Retrofit Hot Tap Tee in March 2015.

IKM Ocean Design is responsible for the EPC delivery, with IKM Maskinering as fabrication supplier.

The RHTT will be clamped onto Zeepipe IIA prior to performing the hot tap operation in summer 2017.

Zeepipe is a natural gas transportation system to export North Sea natural gas to the receiving terminal at Zeebrugge in Belgium. Zeepipe II A is a 303 km long 40″ pipeline from Kollsnes gas processing plant in Norway to Sleipner, and has been in operation since 1996. The capacity of Zeepipe II A is 26.3 billion cubic meters per year.
