IKM Elektro nets Goliat job

ENI Norge has entered into a contract with IKM Elektro AS for the provision of overhaul and repairs of electric motors, generators and heaters on the Goliat FPSO, in the Barents sea, off Norway.

The contract has a duration of three years with options for extensions, and will be performed as an Integrated Operations project.

Both companies expect that the contract will utilize local personnel and IKM Elektro will use the already established IKM facilities in Hammerfest as the operational hub. As much work as possible will be executed in Hammerfest.

Eni says that contract is in line with its efforts to create industrial ripple effects in the north.

“A major part of the offshore supply chain is now present in the Hammerfest, as a result of the Goliat project,” says Andreas Wulff, communication manager at Eni Norge.

The two companies promise they will work closely to set maintenance strategies and execute the overall maintenance program for motors and heaters.
