Imabari – New Member of MIJAC

Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is joining the Maritime Innovation Japan Corporation, the decision to participate in MIJAC was reached on November 22nd 2013.

MIJAC was founded in April 2013 for the purpose of doing research and development on ship design and construction, ship-operating technology, technologies to reduce the CO2 and emissions from ships the efficient use of ocean energy.

The aim of MIJAC is to lead in improving Japanese shipbuilders, shipping, and ocean technologies to ever-higher levels and keep them known worldwide as Japanese technologies.

As of today, the participants are: Oshima Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.; Sanoyasu Shipbuilding Corporation; Shin Kurushima Dockyard Co., Ltd.; Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.; Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha; Nippon Kaiji Kyokai; Uzushio Electric Co., Ltd.; Taiyo Electric Co., Ltd.; Terasaki Electric Co., Ltd.; Nakashima Propeller Co., Ltd.; YANMAR Co., Ltd.
