Imtech Marine’s technology on board ‘Pieter Schelte’

Pieter Schelte, Allseas’ groundbreaking new-build vessel, recently arrived in the port area of Rotterdam. Imtech Marine is a technology partner and system integrator on board the Pieter Schelte, which is “the largest offshore vessel the world has ever seen”.

Over the past three years, Imtech Marine has designed and delivered the Electrical Power generation-, Distribution- and Propulsion systems as well as the complete Automation and DP3 systems on board. The company says that the vessel is equipped with an 11 kV electrical power plant with a total installed electrical power of approximately 100 MW and 12 electrically driven thrusters each with a power of 6 MW.

Imtech Marine says it performed the electrical and HVAC engineering, supplied generators, motors, HV switchboards, transformers, electrical propulsion drives, automation and DP3 systems and took care of the complete system integration. Imtech Marine has finished commissioning of its systems at the yard in Korea in 2014.

Imtech Marine was also technology and system integration partner on board other Allseas vessels: the Audacia, Solitaire and Lorelay.
