Pertamina Plans to Complete Arun LNG Conversion by June 2013

Indonesia’s PT Pertamina welcomed the positive decision of the government to speed up the Arun LNG plant conversion into a receiving terminal in order to meet the gas needs in Aceh and North Sumatra, the company said in a statement.

Investment to convert Arun into an LNG receiving terminal will be about $80 million.

Pertamina has completed the FEED work in June last year and other studies, and it expects that the conversion project will be finished by June 2013.

The planned Arun terminal is expected to have a capacity of 200 mmscfd at the first stage and can be increased to 320 mmscfd after a pipe that connects Arun and Belawan has been constructed.
