Indonesian Coast Guard has detained the captain of Singapore-flagged tug ASL Glory for entering illegally the country’s waters.

The 289-dwt ASL Glory and an accompanying barge were detained off Batam on Sunday, while sailing towards Singapore near Batam’s Tanjung Uncang, as reported by the Straits Times.

The report said that eight crew members, one of them a Singaporean, were detained and later released, whereas the Indonesian captain remained in custody.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said in a clarification that there was no Singaporean onboard.

The authorities are processing the case.
