The maritime grant-making and campaigning charity Seafarers UK has published a new infographic that shows the UK’s reliance on seafarers.

According to the information provided, 120,000 people from the UK work at sea, 95% of UK imports and exports are carried by ship, and many seafarers work at sea for more than nine months every year.

Seafarers UK’s data also shows that the UK’s most valuable food export is chocolate, while the country imports 465,000 tonnes of potatoes every year.
