Inpex: Ichthys LNG offshore flowlines done

The Inpex-operated Ichthys LNG project said it has completed the installation of 140 kilometres of rigid subsea flowlines.

The infield flowlines were installed in water depths up to 275 metres, Inpex revealed in a statement on Tuesday.

The flowlines will carry reservoir fluids from 20 subsea wells at the Ichthys field in the Browse Basin, approximately 220 kilometres offshore Western Australia, to the project’s two floating processing facilities, a central processing facility and floating production storage and offloading facility.

The job was completed by Heerema’s deepwater construction vessel Aegir, under the contract Heerema Marine Contractors won from McDermott in January 2012.

The Ichthys project is a joint venture between Inpex, major partner Total, CPC Corporation and the Australian subsidiaries of Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, Kansai Electric, Chubu Electric Power and Toho Gas.
