InterMoor Presents Lufeng Project at China Deepwater Summit 2012

Martin Kobiela, operations director of InterMoor Pte Ltd, an Acteon company, will present at the 4th China Deepwater Summit 2012 in Beijing, China. Kobiela will describe the challenges and customized solutions associated with InterMoor’s permanent mooring work in Lufeng oilfield in the South China Sea as part of the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) facility session of the summit on November 30, 2012.

InterMoor, under contract to Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd on behalf of China National Offshore Oil Corporation, was involved in more than five months’ work. During this time, the scope of work included project management, engineering, procurement and installation for a new buoy turret mooring system for the upgraded Nanhai Sheng Kai floating storage and offloading unit in Lufeng 13-2 field and the installation of a new 8-in. flexible flowline and riser between the buoy turret mooring system and the Lufeng 13-2 wellhead platform. InterMoor’s expertise in back-of-the boat solutions played a vital role in executing the project efficiently and successfully, in a tight timeframe and with an Anchor-Handling Vessel.

Presentations at the China Deepwater Summit signal an exciting period of growth across the global deepwater oil and gas industry, particularly offshore China. This growth is reflected in InterMoor’s continued expansion in South East Asia, as Kobiela explains, “We are working with key clients such as China National Offshore Oil Corporation/Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd, Chevron and Murphy, and bringing InterMoor’s full suite of mooring solutions and innovative technology along with deepwater experience and expertise to the region.”
