International Power Changes Name to GDF SUEZ Energy International

With the acquisition of 100% of International Power, and as part of the GDF Group’s global rebranding policy, since October 19 the International Power name has changed to the GDF SUEZ brand.

“International Power” is now ”GDF SUEZ Energy International.” The change in brand also applies to the six major geographic regions of International Power activity. For example, IPR – GDF SUEZ Asia has become GDF SUEZ Energy Asia.

The change aims to take advantage of GDF SUEZ brand strength abroad, giving stakeholders a unified Group image while streamlining worldwide communications of the Energy International business line.

Since 2009, GDF SUEZ has implemented a corporate rebranding policy in Europe covering Germany, Romania, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, and France.

GDF SUEZ Energy International is in charge of the Group’s energy activities in 30 countries and six geographic regions (Latin America, North America, the United Kingdom/Europe, Australia, Asia, and the Middle East/Turkey/Africa).

Today, GDF SUEZ Energy International has 11,500 employees, an installed gross power generation capacity of 76.8 GW and 9.8 GW under construction1. In addition to electricity production, the business line is active in the fields of retail trade, LNG, natural gas distribution, and seawater desalination.
