Gougsar Port Expansion Progresses Well

Gougsar Port, located in Hormozgan province in the south of the country with fishing capacity of 253 t, is to be put into operation in 2013.

Mr. Beheshtian, Director General of Construction of Fishing Port Department of Iranian Fisheries Organization said that continuation of yard preparation, construction of necessary facilities and dredging operation are among the measures currently underway to complete the construction of Gougsar Fishing Port. These measures are to be conducted by the end of this Iranian calendar year (which is to come to a close in March 2013).

Pointing out to the fact that some $ 2 million worth of fund has already been appropriated for this project, Mr. Beheshtian said that on the basis of the predictions by the June 2013 the Gougsar Fishing Port will be completed. He went on to say execution works of Gougsar Port has had 90% progress till now.

This official asserted that construction of Gougsar Fishing Port involves:

– Construction of a breakwater with a total length of 300 m,

– Dredging operation of 300 cubic meters.

– Yard preparation with a total area of 500000 square meters,

– Construction of support building and offices with a total area of 300 square meters.
