Iran, Lebanon Expand Cooperation in Oil and Gas Industry

Iran and Lebanon oil officials reached new agreements on expanding cooperation in oil and gas industry during a meeting held in Beirut May 12.

Managing director of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), Mostafa Kashkouli made the remarks adding in a meeting with Minister of Industry and Trade, and Minister of Economic Affairs of Lebanon the two sides discussed different oil industry issues.

He said the two sides reached agreements on Iran’s participation in building and modernizing oil refineries and gas processing plants in Lebanon, conducting exploration operations in the newly discovered offshore fields, transfer of technical knowhow, training courses and development of CNG industry in the country.

Kashkouli said that on the sidelines of Beirut Exhibition, NIOPDC had held several specialized sessions with Lebanon oil and gas companies and companies from other countries adding Lebanon’s companies welcomed Iranian companies’ presence in the country, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

The five-day exhibition of Islamic Republic of Iran in Beirut wrapped up May 12. More than 70 Iranian companies including NIOPDC and NIGC took part in the exhibition.
