Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline to Be Completed Next Year

Pakistani Secretary of Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister informed the committee on petroleum and natural resources that the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project will be completed by the end of 2014.

The secretary said IP gas pipeline project is an important project that would help Pakistan to overcome its energy crisis, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

The Committee recommended starting construction of power generation units at Gwadar and other suburban areas to produce electricity through the gas imported from Iran.

Pakistan’s federal minister for petroleum and natural resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi earlier said that the PML-N government would honour the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline deal as the agreement was signed between two sovereign countries.
