Italy: OLT Offshore issues LNG tender

Italy’s OLT Offshore LNG Toscana informed it has launched a tender for the peak shaving service of the company’s FSRU Toscana.

The company is seeking a cargo of liquefied natural gas to be delivered to its FSRU Toscana located about 22 km off the coast between Livorno and Pisa, according to the filing.

The peak shaving service is one of the emergency measures established by the Decree of the Ministry of the Economic Development to face unfavorable events for the national gas system, which could occur during the winter period and to guarantee the security of the Italian gas system.

The tender was issued on October 19 with final bids to be submitted by November 18.

OLT Offshore is looking for a cargo of LNG in volume between 60,000 cbm and 100,000 cbm for delivery in the period between December 1 and December 31, the tender documentation reveals.

In coordination with Snam Rete Gas, OLT Offshore will store the delivered liquefied natural gas and supply it to SRG upon the company’s request in the period between January 1 and March 31, 2016.

The winners of the tender will be revealed on November 19, the company said.
