Iveco: sixth LNG station opened in Italy

Iveco, Maganetti and Levissima-Sanpellegrino opened the sixth LNG station in Italy in Gera Lario (Como).

The LNG station is a part of the a sustainability project backed by Maganetti Group, a logistics company operating in the Sondrio province and developed in collaboration with the Levissima-Sanpellegrino Group and supported with Iveco natural gas vehicles.

Iveco said in its statement that the project aims to promote road-based transport service powered primarily by LNG as an alternative to diesel and petrol, using LNG-fuelled Iveco vehicles.

The facility was built by Ham Italia, an Italian-Spanish designer and constructor of LNG fueling facilities. The station also has CNG fueling capabilities and during the inauguration ceremony a CNG-fueled Iveco minibus has been handed over to the Municipality of Gera Lario.

Magneti Group, whose fleet will refuel at the station purchased 13 Iveco Stralis LNG-fueled trucks extending its fleet to 36 liquefied natural gas fueled vehicles in total. This represents 20 percent of the company’s entire fleet.
