Japan Aug LNG imports down

Japan imported 7.05 million tonnes of LNG in August, down 2.7 percent as compared to the same month in 2013, the country’s Ministry of Finance said.

Most of Japan’s LNG imports in August came from Australia, Malaysia and Qatar.

Japan, the world’s biggest buyer of liquefied natural gas, imported 87.73 million tonnes of LNG in the fiscal year ended in March, up 1 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
