Japan: I-S SHIPYARD Hands Over 200th ‘IMABARI 28’ Type Bulk Carrier

I-S SHIPYARD CO., LTD., a member of IMABARI SHIPBUILDING GROUP , has delivered a 28.000 DWT Bulk Carrier MV “KING RICE” on October 29th. The vessel comes as the 200th 28BC type bulk carrier that the Group has delivered since 1990s.

For 22 years, when M/V “STELLAR BENY” had been delivered as the very first vessel of 28BC series, the 28BC series have been enjoying good reputation by not only domestic ship-owners and operators but also by overseas customers as well.

From now on, IMABARI SHIPBUILDING GROUP aims to develop, while inheriting the basic concept of the first 28BC, more fuel saving and ecological 28BC to cope with recent soaring oil prices and environmental issues.
