Mitsui Lines Hosts Indian Government Delegation

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today announced that a nine-member delegation from the government of India, headed by Milind Murli Deora, who serves as Minister of State for Communications, Information Technology and Shipping, visited MOL headquarters in Tokyo on April 9.

The delegation met with MOL President Koichi Muto and several other executives. In a meeting with the delegation, MOL outlined its operations in India, beginning with the liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier business, and how MOL shipping services can continue to contribute to the economic growth of India, which expects healthy expansion of demand in the energy sector. MOL also reaffirmed its commitment to extend cooperative arrangements with Indian state shipping companies.

Minister Deora expressed appreciation for MOL’s wide-ranging businesses and branches in India, and said the nation hopes to pursue even stronger relations with MOL in the future.

The MOL Group not only provides India with a broad range of shipping and logistics services, but also operates seafarer training centers, and has businesses in data processing and other communications areas. MOL operations in India cover a broad spectrum and have earned high regard from the government, the business community, and society at large.

MOL will continue to strengthen and expand its business activities in India and other high-growth regions.
