Japan October LNG imports drop

Japan imported 6,94 million tonnes of LNG in October, down 7.9 percent as compared to the same month in 2013, the country’s Ministry of Finance said.

Most of Japan’s LNG imports in October came from Australia (1,41 million tonnes), Qatar (1,35 million tonnes) and Malaysia (1,16 million tonnes).

Japan, the world’s biggest buyer of liquefied natural gas, imported 73,37 million tonnes in the January-October period, up 1.6 percent on year.
