Japan: TEPCO Feb LNG Use Up 24.3 Percent YoY

Japan’s Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) burned 1,966,000 mt of LNG in February, up 24.3 percent on year.

TEPCO imported 2,222,000 mt of LNG in February, up from 2,216,000 mt it imported in January.

Japan’s consumption of LNG surged in the aftermath of the March 11 earthquake.

Power companies account for two-thirds of total Japanese LNG imports.
