Japan: Utilities Nov LNG Usage Rises 1.9 Percent YoY

The ten regional electric power companies in Japan consumed 4.6 million tonnes of LNG in November, up 1.9 percent compared to November of 2012, according to the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan (FEPC).

The power companies bought 5.01 million tonnes of LNG in November, a rise of 8.6 compared to November of 2012.

Total electricity generated and purchased across the ten companies in November declined by 0.5% from a year earlier to 71.96 billion kWh, mainly due to decreased heating demands compared with last year, caused by relatively higher temperatures in November than the previous year.
