JGC snatches Woodfibre LNG FEED services job

LNG engineer JGC Group said that, through its unit JGC America, it has been selected to provide front-end engineering and design (FEED) services for the Woodfibre LNG project in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. 

JGC will work on FEED development and an EPC proposal for the 2.1 mtpa natural gas liquefaction and export plant, for an undisclosed value, the company said in its statement on Tuesday.

The Woodfibre LNG project is a mid-scale natural gas liquefaction facility located on a brownfield site on the shores of Howe Sound in the District of Squamish.

The proposed facility, located at te former Woodfibre pulp mill near Squamish, will receive natural gas from a FortisBC natural gas pipeline and will be powered with electricity from BC Hydro.

The project has a permit to export up to 2.1 mtpa of LNG for a period of 25 years and expects to load three to four cargoes per month from the facility. The plant will also include a 250,000-cbm storage tank. First exports from the facility are expected in 2020.

Canada’s Woodfibre LNG is a subsidiary of Pacific Oil & Gas Limited, which is part of the Singapore-based RGE group of companies.
