The National Electric Power Company of Jordan (NEPCO) on Monday launched a tender seeking the supply of one liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo to be delivered in May.

The spot LNG cargo is to be provided on a DES (Delivered Ex Ship) basis to NEPCO’s Al‐Sheikh Sabah LNG terminal at Aqaba, according to a tender document posted on its website.

The LNG delivery window is May 6-7. Bids must be submitted on or before March 19.

Jordan started importing LNG in May 2015 when the 160,000-cbm FSRU Golar Eskimo arrived in the port of Aqaba.

The FSRU is capable of delivering up to 500 mmscfd with a peak capacity of 750 mmscfd.
