Kay to begin Beach CEO role earlier than planned

Australia’s Beach Energy said its new CEO, Matthew Kay will start work at the company earlier than expected.

According to a statement by Beach issued on Tuesday, the appointment of Kay was to take effect from July 17 or such earlier date as mutually agreed.

Kay’s commitments have altered and now allow for an earlier start date on May 2, Beach said.

With all approvals for the merger with Drillsearch obtained, Matt will commence during an exciting period for the company.  Matt has extensive corporate development and operational experience within the oil and gas industry, which will prove invaluable as we integrate Drillsearch and continue to execute our strategy,Beach Chairman, Glenn Davis, said

Until Key commences, Neil Gibbins will continue in the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer, Davis added.
