Keel Laid for 2nd Handymax Vessel at Taizhou CATIC

The keel-laying ceremony of the 2nd 51,000 DWT bulk carrier, built for a domestic owner, was held inside the Dry Dock at Taizhou CATIC on April 27th.

The vessel adopts start-of-art optimized design of flap rudder ball to improve the convolution function and MAN B&W 6S46ME-B8.2-TII type main engine characterized with low fuel oil consumption and reduced emission of NOx achieved via exhaust bypass.

Assistant General Manager of Taizhou CATIC, Mr. Huang Qinghua and other shipyard’s relevant leaders, attended the ceremony together with owner’s representatives and Class site surveyors.
