Krasnoye Clinches Orders for Five Tankers and Five Bulkers

Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard, a part of Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation, has signed agreements to construct five chemical tankers and five dry cargo ships by the end of 2018.

Under the shipbuilding contracts, Krasnoye will construct the 140-meter-long tankers of Project RST27M for BF Tanker, while the dry cargo ships of Project RSD59 would be constructed for Paula Rise.

Although the financial terms of the contracts were not disclosed, the shipbuilder said that Russia’s State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) is the customer behind the newbuildings.

Krasnoye is scheduled to build and deliver the first three chemical tankers in 2017, while the remaining two tankers from the batch would be finalized and handed over in the first half of 2018.

All of the dry cargo vessels under the deal are scheduled to be delivered during 2018.

Earlier in January the shipbuilder received an order to construct a cruise liner within the Project PV-300 for the cruise company Vodohod.

Scheduled for delivery in February 2020, the four-deck cruise vessel will feature a length of 141 meters and a width of 16.8 meters.
