KSS Line Charters Out LPG Newbuild to JX Ocean

South Korean gas and chemical shipping company KSS Line has signed a five-year charter contract with JX Ocean Co. Ltd for transportation of LPG.

The contract is worth KRW 61.2 billion (USD 53.1 million) and will see KSS Line charter out its newbuild gas carrier due for delivery in October 2017 at an annual rate worth KRW 12 billion.

KSS Line said that with the latest deal it has chartered out all five of its newbuildings.

The company is to take delivery of its Gas Tigers newbuild in 2016, whereas the remaining four are due in 2017.

Earlier this month KSS Line ordered a 84,000 cbm very large gas carrier at Hyundai Heavy Industries which is slated for delivery in 2017.

The ship is estimated to be worth KRW 88 billion (USD 77 million).

KSS Line has two more 84,000 cbm VLGCs at HHI and two 38,000 cbm LPG carriers at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.
