Lamprell refreshing its independent directors

A director at the UAE-based rig builder Lamprell is leaving the company’s board and his replacement has already been lined up.

Lamprell informed on Thursday that Ellis Armstrong has decided not to stand for re-election as a director at the 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM). Armstrong has been an independent Non-executive Director for Lamprell since May 27, 2013.

Lamprell explained that Armstrong, together with the company’s board, recognize the importance of refreshing its independent directors at appropriate times.

With effect from January 1, 2018, James Dewar will replace Armstrong in the role of chair of the Audit & Risk Committee.

Until the 2018 AGM, Armstrong will continue in his roles as the company’s Senior Independent Director and as a member of the company’s principal board committees.
