LCI to provide skills training for Bear Head LNG workforce

Bear head LNG, a unit of Australia’s Liquefied Natural gas Limited, on Wednesday, signed a skills training memorandum of understanding with LearnCorp International. 

Under the agreement, LCI’s training will ensure Bear Head LNG has the skilled workforce needed for its proposed LNG facility on the Strait of Canso in Richmond County, Nova Scotia, LCI’s statement reveals.

Greg Vesey, President of Bear Head LNG“Over the next several years, Bear Head LNG will need hundreds of skilled workers to safely construct, operate, and maintain its facility. Together, Bear Head LNG and LCI will provide the certified training needed.”

LNG Limited’s Bear Head LNG facility in Canada will have an export capacity of 8 mtpa with an option to expand to 12 mtpa of liquefied natural gas. LNGL said the first chilled gas from the facility is expected in 2019 or 2020.
