LD Tide inks new CTV contract for Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm
Louis Dreyfus Armateurs and Tidal Transit, through a joint venture named LD Tide, have signed a crew transfer vessel (CTV) contract with the developer of the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm, Eolien Maritime France.
The CTV is the third such vessel to be operated by LD Tide on the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm, following an order placed by the project’s wind turbine supplier GE Renewable Energy in December 2020.
The vessel will be designed by MAURIC naval architects and built by the French shipyard OCEA, just as its two sister CTV previously ordered by GE.
For the 480 MW wind farm, GE will supply 80 of its Haliade 6 MW turbines.
The Saint-Nazaire project, also known as Parc du Banc de Guérande, is scheduled to be operational in the summer of 2022, when it will become France’s first commercial offshore wind farm.
The project is being developed by Eolien Maritime France (EMF), a consortium of EDF Renouvelables, Enbridge, and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.
