Liquid Robotics Names Senior VP of Engineering

Liquid Robotics has appointed Dr. David McLaren as its senior vice president of engineering.

In his role, McLaren will be responsible for managing all aspects of Liquid Robotics’ engineering organization and will play a role in directing the company’s technology and product development.

He will report directly to Roger Hine, the company’s co-founder, chief technology officer, and inventor of the Wave Glider, a wave and solar powered ocean robot.

“The need to protect, explore, and have a deeper understanding of our oceans has never been more critical than now,” said Dr. David McLaren, senior VP of engineering, Liquid Robotics. “Joining a company leading this effort was an opportunity not to be missed.”

In addition to naming Dave McLaren to the executive team, Liquid Robotics has attracted other industry experts for strategic growth positions. These positions report to Gary Gysin, president and CEO of Liquid Robotics. The new executive members are:

Mark Bindon, vice president of mission services, former vice president and client delivery executive for Silver Spring Networks.

Jerome Pereira, vice president of manufacturing, former vice president of operations at Vidcie Inc.

Becky Tanner, vice president of marketing, former executive director of corporate marketing and operations for Maxim Integrated.
