Livestock Carrier Sinks Off Gulf of Aden

A livestock carrier sank off the coast of Gulf of Aden with thousands of animals onboard.

The carrier,reportedly, had 31 people onboard, out of which 29 were rescued, and 2 people are still missing.

The ship was carrying livestock from Somalia to United Arab Emirates.

According to media reports, more than 3000 live animals were lost in the incident.

Export of livestock is contributing 40 percent to the Somali Community Gross Domestic Product (GDP) annually.
