LNG Tanker Docks at Kenai Export Terminal

The 135,000 cbm Excel LNG tanker has docked at ConocoPhillips Kenai LNG export terminal in Alaska.

ConocoPhillips said last week that it plans to send the first shipment of LNG from its Kenai terminal this month after it has renewed its export licence in April.

The LNG tanker arrived at the terminal on Friday morning, ConocoPhillips spokeswoman Amy Burnett said. Burnett could not say how long it will take to load the vessel or the destination of the cargo, although presumably it is in Asia, Platts informs.

The Kenai terminal is the first exporter of LNG from the United States. During its long career it has shipped LNG primarily to Japan, more than 1,300 loads for the past four-plus decades.
