LTHE scores ‘large’ offshore orders with ONGC

India’s Larsen & Toubro Hydrocarbon Engineering Limited (LTHE) has won what it described as a large twin order for delivery of offshore facilities and pipelines to compatriot oil company ONGC as part of two offshore developments in India.

LTHE defines a large contract as having a value between 2500 to 5000 Crore. Converted to US dollars the value would be between $362 and $723 million.

The first order is related to ONGC’s development of Heera Panna Block, located in the Western Offshore basin, 70 kilometers offshore southwest of Mumbai High.

Under the contract, LTHE will deliver two wellhead platforms, 49 kilometers of subsea rigid pipelines, and will also be responsible for the installation of ten risers, and for modification work at seven existing platforms and Heera Process Complex.

The second contract is related to the development of the Mumbai High South field of located about 210 km to the West of Mumbai city.

The project includes delivery of one water injection process platform bridge connected to existing WIS platform, a Living Quarter for a crew of 100, and modification and interconnection of all the utilities with existing WIS, BHS, SLQ platforms.

LTHE said on Wednesday that the contracts were awarded through international competitive bidding on a Lump Sum Turn Key (LSTK) basis. It did not reveal the financial details of the contracts but said it was a “large” contract.
