Maersk to Showcase Enhanced Rig Designs at ONS (Norway)

Maersk Drilling’s new enhanced rig designs will be presented at this year’s major international energy event in Stavanger.

From August 28th – 31st 2012 Maersk Drilling will attend the broad-based international energy event ONS in Stavanger, Norway to present the design of its XL Enhanced jack-up rigs currently under construction in Singapore.

The design of the rigs is based on input from customers, crews, in-house specialists and not least 8 years of operational experience on the highly successful Mærsk Innovator and Mærsk Inspirer. The three newbuildings will be delivered in 2013 and 2014 and have all been selected for development projects in the Norwegian market by three major operators.

“These rigs are designed to meet the customers’ increasing demand for safe and highly efficient drilling operations and the enhanced features of this design will make the rigs superior to other rigs in the market,“ says Claus V. Hemmingsen, CEO of Maersk Drilling.

For almost 40 years ONS has been a broad-based international energy event, and a unique meeting place for everyone involved in the entire energy sector. This year more than 50,000 guests are expected to join the event in Stavanger.

Maersk Drilling can be found at stand M1123.
