Magseis bags LoI for North Sea seismic shoot

Magseis, a Norwegian geophysical company, has been awarded a Letter of Intent (LOI) by a major international oil company for seabed seismic acquisition in the UK sector of the North Sea.

Magseis will be using the company’s proprietary MASS system and Artemis Athene.

MV Artemis Athene is a DP 2 class research/survey vessel. According to the company, industrial robot technology is used onboard the vessel to automate sensor capsule handling.

The work is expected to start towards the end of the first quarter of 2015 and has an expected duration of more than 100 days.

Magseis did not respond to Offshore Energy Today’s query about the value of the contract, nor did it reveal the name of the client in question.
