Kencana Wins MOPU Refurbishment Deal from Petrofac

Malaysia’s Kencana HL Sdn. Bhd. recently entered into a contract with Petrofac for the refurbishment, life extension and conversion of a Mobile Offshore Production Unit (“MOPU”)  .

Under the Contract, KHL is to undertake the engineering, procurement, and construction (“EPC”) for the refurbishment, life extension and conversion of a MOPU for development of an oilfield offshore  Malaysia. The total value of the Contract is estimated at RM48.9 million (USD 15.6 million). It is a one-off EPC contract and is expected to be delivered to Petrofac within the third quarter of calendar year 2012.

Sapura Kencana Merger

KENCANA shares were removed from the Official List of Bursa Securities yesterday due to the listing of shares of Sapura Kencana Petroleum Berhad , the new entity formed post-merger of Kencana Petroleum Bhd and SapuraCrest Petroleum Berhad.

According to the Borneo Post, the $3.8 billion merger has created Malaysia’s largest oilfield services provider, and one of the top five oil and gas services companies in the world by asset value.
