Petronas Names VP and CEO of Development and Production

PETRONAS of Malaysia announced that its Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Datuk Mohd Anuar Taib as Vice President & Chief Executive development and production.

In this position, he will head the upstream development and production division of PETRONAS in Malaysia as well as in 23 countries worldwide.

Datuk Mohd Anuar joined Shell in 1990 and has been in various technical and business development positions throughout Asia and the United States. Until 30 June 2012, he serves as VP Malaysia, Upstream International and Chairman of Shell Malaysia.

Datuk Mohd Anuar will be taking over the portfolio from Datuk Abdullah Karim, who is appointed the Vice President & Venture Director, LNG Projects – Domestic, under PETRONAS’ Gas & Power Business. In this new capacity, Datuk Abdullah will be responsible for the delivery of PETRONAS’ LNG projects in Malaysia.
