Malaysia welcoming FLNG experts

Global FLNG Forum – Malaysia will gather global gas experts to look into latest developments in floating LNG.

Natural gas is one of the most important resources in the world today, mainly because it is one of the cleanest burning fossil fuels and its diverse household and industry applications. Ample amount of natural gas resources world over has tilted the focus of companies on exploring, producing and refining natural gas for consumption. Companies are now looking at tapping into water based natural gas fields, investing in Floating LNG operations for developing offshore fields. With global investments in FLNG expected to exceed $70Bn by 2020, there has been a steady rise in new projects and technological developments.

Global FLNG Forum, to be held in Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia on 11 – 12 November 2014 will gather global industry experts to delve into the latest developments and look at new project opportunities. The forum will look into topics like regulatory challenges in FLNG, analysing FLNG supply capabilities to address current LNG supply deficit, understanding design dynamics & construction of FLNG vessels, designing FSRUs, financing mechanisms for FLNG projects, ensuring safer & efficient integrating FLNG modules from various fabrication sites and safe loading & offloading in difficult environmental conditions.

Speaking at the forum will be organizations like ADCO, Petroleb, Tokyo Gas – Malaysia, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority – Pakistan, PetroChina and Petromin LNG – Papau New Guinea. With an effective blend of presentations, panel discussions and case studies, the forum will provide an opportunity for the delegates to learn and stay updated from the experiences of their peers.
