Matrix bags risk training job in Mozambique for Anadarko

Incident investigation specialist Matrix Risk Control (Matrix) has secured a contract to deliver incident investigation training in Mozambique for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (Anadarko).

Representatives from the Aberdeen-based company will develop and deliver incident investigation training for up to 90 staff members over the remaining quarter of 2017, the company said in a statement.

The programme will be tailored to meet Anadarko’s specific requirements, in order to achieve consistent incident investigation standards throughout Anadarko’s African operations.

Anadarko is the operator of the Mozambique LNG, a project, Mozambique’s first large-scale onshore LNG park on the Afungi peninsula in Cabo Delgado province of northern Mozambique.

The company has reached a major milestone at the end of July by signing marine concessions, two agreements with the government of Mozambique, allowing it to design, build and operate the marine facilities for its LNG project in northern Mozambique.

The company is looking to develop an LNG plant consisting of two initial LNG trains with a total capacity of 12 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to support the Golfinho/Atum field located entirely within Offshore Area 1.

Anadarko operates Offshore Area 1 with a 26.5-percent working interest. Co-venturers include Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos E.P. (ENH) (15 percent), Mitsui E&P Mozambique (20 percent), ONGC Videsh (16 percent), Bharat PetroResources (10 percent), PTT Exploration & Production (8.5 percent), and Oil India (4 percent).
