Mentor IMC supports Premier Oil’s Catcher project

Premier Oil has awarded a contract to oil and gas project resource specialists Mentor IMC Group to supply and support the resource requirements for the North Sea operator’s Catcher development.

Mentor IMC Group will partner with Premier in its key overseas design and fabrication locations of Singapore, Japan and Norway. This news solidifies Mentor IMC Group’s existing relationship with Premier, as Catcher marks the fourth collaboration between the two companies.

Mentor IMC Group said it was pleased to be a part of the project which will involve the new build of a Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading FPSO for Catcher. The scope of the project includes detailed engineering services for around 7,800 tonnes of topsides modules with an order for a new build hull from Japan, with subsequent conversion and integration work to be performed in Singapore. The Project is expected to be ready for production mid-2017 with a field life of 10+ years.

With over 25 years’ experience resourcing Oil and Gas projects internationally Mentor IMC Group are looking forward to delivering a team of engineering and technical project specialists to see the project from detailed design to construction and completion of the vessel, the company said in a press release.

With a global presence (including offices in Singapore and Japan) Mentor IMC Group will act as trusted partner to Premier ensuring compliance with specific in country taxation and legislation requirements in relation to providing the high calibre professional Project Specialist Consultants required by Premier.

Mentor IMC Group has previously worked with Premier on Premier’s Chim Sao (Vietnam) and Solan developments (North Sea) and is currently partnered with them on the Sea Lion project (Falkland Islands).
