MEO non-exec resigns

MEO Australia Limited has informed that its non-executive director, Michael Sweeney has tendered his resignation with immediate effect.

Sweeney has served as a non-executive director since October 1, 2008 and was a member of the Remuneration & Nomination and Audit & Risk Committees.

“On behalf of shareholders, the Board thanks Michael for his valuable contribution and wishes him well in his future endeavors,” the company said in the press release.

Sweeney practices as a Barrister at the Victorian Bar, Melbourne, specialising in the fields of energy and resources law, competition law/third party access regimes, joint ventures and generally in commercial and contract law. He also specializes in alternative disputes resolution, particularly arbitration both as qualified arbitrator and as counsel in arbitrations.

MEO recently appointed Peter Stickland as its Chief Executive Officer.
