Mercator Offloads Vessel Pair

Mumbai-based Mercator Limited — former Mercator Lines — has decided to dispose of two of its vessels.

At the meeting held on September 30, the company’s board of directors approved the sale of the MR2 tanker Prem Mala and the floating storage, offloading (FSO) unit Prem Pride.

Without revealing any further details, Mercator said the above sales are subject to necessary approvals.

The 50,335 cbm Prem Mala, previously named Golkoy, was built in Japan in 2000. Currently, the ship has a market value of USD 5.63 million, according to data provided by VesselsValue.

The 117,921 cbm Prem Pride, former Maersk Pride, was constructed in China in 1999. The market value of the FSO oldie currently stands at USD 7.21 million.
