MES Hands Over Bulker to Lazio Shipping

Japanese shipbuilder Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MES) delivered a 56,000 dwt type bulk carrier MV Desert Osprey to the Marshall Islands-based Lazio Shipping and Investment in a ceremony held at its Chiba Works on March 31, 2015.

This is the 9th ship of the shipbuilder’s ”neo56BC” eco-ship design, capable of accommodating up to 24 persons and sailing at the speed of up to 14.4 knots.

The Desert Osprey is 190 meters in length, 32.25 m in breadth, with 18.1 m depth.

The vessel is classed by ABS, and is designed in accordance with IACS Common Structural Rules.
