METI: Spot LNG prices contracted in July at USD 11.8

Japan’s average price of spot LNG that is contracted in July is $11.8 per mmBtu on DES basis, Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) said in a statement.

“The average price of spot LNG imported into Japan that arrived in July is $13.8 per mmBtu,” METI added.

METI said that only spot LNG cargoes are taken into account in its assessment, excluding short-, medium- and long-term contract cargoes, as well as those linked to a particular price index.
