MEW lines up speakers for its inaugural conference

Marine Energy Wales (MEW) has lined up speakers for its inaugural conference, with a keynote address to be provided by Ken Skates, Welsh Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Infrastructure.

The inaugural conference, organized by the recently established marine industry body MEW, is taking place on March 30, 2017, and will feature speakers from industry, research organizations, as well as the government.

Ken Skates said: “I am delighted the Welsh government is a key sponsor for this event that will provide a great platform to highlight some of the exciting and highly innovative projects that are being developed in Wales. It presents an opportunity to promote what Wales can offer the industry and will bring together key players in the sector to network and discuss and explore investment opportunities.”

The conference will provide updates on the Welsh marine renewable energy developments, bringing together technology developers, supply chain, government, academia and the public sector.

Other speakers at the conference include representatives from Morlais Marine Energy, created by Menter Môn following its appointment as the managers for the West Anglesey Demonstration Zone, Wave Hub, Marine Power Systems and OpenHydro.

The conference will be held in Swansea, building on seven years of Marine Energy Pembrokeshire Industry Seminars.
