Mexico gets Peru LNG cargo

Mexico received a cargo of liquefied natural gas from Peru’s sole liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita.

The cargo was dispatched on July 27 aboard the 135,072 cbm LNG carrier Gallina, data from the state-owned Perupetro shows.

The Gallina delivered the shipment to the Manzanillo LNG import facility in Mexico’s Colima state during the weekend, according to AIS data provided by the vessel tracking website, MarineTraffic.

With the latest cargo, Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 342 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
