Mexico: Navy to Build Vessels for Pemex

Mexico´s state controlled oil company Pemex has signed a letter of intent with the Mexican Navy for the construction of new vessels for the oil company´s  fleet.

The Secretary of the Navy, Admiral Mariano Francisco Saynez and CEO of Petroleos Mexicanos, Juan Jose Suarez Coppel signed the agreement.

Under the agreement the navy will build tugs, barges and other vessels for the oil company.

“The agreement is part of PEMEX’s strategy to boost the development of Mexican shipyards in order to strengthen the national shipbuilding industry,” said Pemex in a press release.
